KOLKATA, 17 May 2008 : eRevMax Ltd, a New Jersey-headquartered company into developing revenue-maximising products for the software industry, is looking at the hospitality industry in India, which is poised to tackle a shortfall of 1.5 lakh rooms by 2010. We plan to open our office in Asia next year, but we have not yet zeroed in on the location," said chief executive officer Andrew Morsi. eRevMax, which has a back office in Kolkata, is keen to develop business in India. In 2007, the US did 51% of its business over the Internet, Europe 30%. So it is only a matter of time before others start to follow," he said. Around eight travel websites were launched in India recently, and all of them are successful," Morsi said. The company has been selling its products in India from its London office. India has the potential of contributing as much as 30% towards our global turnover. The highest number of inquiries for the products has come from India, followed by Thailand and Japan," he said. eRevMax started marketing its software solutions in India only nine months back and has already got 34 clients, including EIH Hotels and the Trident group.
The six-year-old company is also looking at acquiring a 'complementing' company for developing products such as a central reservation system or a property management system. "We will look at possible acquisitions next year. It makes sense for us to acquire an Indian company," he said. eRevMax is launching a new product, Red Tiger Strategy, next month.
The company is looking at a three-fold growth in turnover by 2010. "Our client base is likely to increase from the present 1500 to 3500 by then," he said.
As much as 65% of the company's turnover comes from its European operations, while the US contributes 30% and the Asian operations the rest. Morsi feels that 15-20% of the company's clients will be from Asia by 2010.
